Meet Your Therapist

I’m Lily Gordon (she/her), a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Seattle and the founder of Daybreak Counseling & Wellness. I work with individuals and couples throughout Washington State who are ready for real, lasting change—not just symptom relief.

A Few Things I Value

  1. Compassion over perfection

  2. Humor in the midst of the hard stuff

  3. A pace that honors where you are

  4. Relationships that feel safe and real

  5. The courage it takes to turn inward

Relational. Reflective. Real.

I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine connection—human, not clinical. I bring warmth, curiosity, and presence into each session, alongside a deep respect for your inner world and lived experience. While I draw from research-backed practices, I don’t treat you like a checklist.

Our work might include exploring old relational patterns, learning to sit with difficult emotions, or reconnecting with what matters most to you. Sometimes it’s tender. Sometimes it’s challenging. Often, it’s both. But it’s always grounded in compassion and collaboration.

I’m Not the Right Fit for Everyone—and That’s a Good Thing

My best-fit clients are thoughtful, driven, and emotionally curious. Many are women navigating high-functioning anxiety, relationship wounds, or the grief of losing someone—or something—that shaped them. Others are couples at a crossroads, wanting to rebuild trust, rekindle connection, or figure out what comes next.

You don’t have to show up perfectly here. In fact, I hope you don’t. I welcome the messy, the unsure, the in-progress. You’ll find a space where your sensitivity is honored, your story matters, and your growth unfolds at your own pace.

Why I Do This Work

I Didn't Always Know I'd Be a Therapist—But Looking Back, It Makes Sense

Before I became a therapist, I ran a sarcoma nonprofit that supported patients and families during some of their hardest moments. I started out trying to keep a safe emotional distance—but eventually, I found myself drawn into deeper connection. I wanted to be a steady, compassionate presence through the unknown, especially when there weren't any easy answers.

This work taught me that healing isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about being seen, heard, and supported as you face what’s real. Today, I bring that same presence into my therapy practice—with humility, humanity, and hope.

How I Work

A Blend of Depth, Science, and Intuition

I integrate several therapeutic approaches—including Relational Therapy, Existential Therapy, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). These frameworks support our work, but they don’t define it. I use them flexibly to meet your unique needs.

What connects all of them—and what guides my work—is the belief that healing happens through authentic connection, both with yourself and with others.
